Septembre 2016, trois jeunes gens répondent à une annonce de travail sur Facebook. Cette dernière mentionne qu’un réalisateur nommé Alan recherche des personnes non expérimentées dans le milieu du cinéma pour faire partie d’une équipe de tournage d’un documentaire sur le réchauffement climatique. Le but étant, au fur et à mesure du périple, de former les candidats aux rudiments de l’audiovisuel. Le réalisateur qui habite aux États-Unis, possède une solide expérience dans le documentaire et gère une société de production à New-York.

 

« Cette équipe de trois personnes a tout simplement été embarquée par un réalisateur mythomane et manipulateur. Dans le film, on ne mentionne pas son vrai nom afin de le rendre anonyme, car j’ai souhaité raconter avant tout cette histoire du point de vue des victimes. J’ai aussi essayé de comprendre les motivations de chaque protagoniste qui, au fil du voyage, se sont révélées très différentes. Ils ont progressé dans l’aventure malgré les signes annonciateurs de l’échec du projet. Nos trois jeunes élus avaient l’impression de vivre quelque chose d’incroyable et hors normes. »
